Philipponnat is based in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, and the family's roots in Champagne go back to 1522. Its Blanc de Noirs is a vintage cuvée of 100% Pinot Noir from the first pressing.

The 2018 comes from Premier and Grand Cru plots in the Montagne de Reims and estate vines in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Avenay. 57% was made in barrel without malolactic fermentation, and dosage is 4.25 g/L. It shows violet, acacia, apricot, strawberry and morello cherry, with a spicy finish of aniseed and liquorice.
