La Crema has been one of Sonoma's benchmark Pinot Noir houses since the late 1970s. Its Russian River Valley bottling draws on cool, fog-cooled sites such as Saralee's and Bellflower, where morning fog off the Pacific keeps acidity fresh and the fruit precise. The estate is Certified California Sustainable.
The 2022 opens with red cherry, raspberry and rose petal. Boysenberry, plum and gentle earthy notes fill out a plush, generous palate, and juicy acidity keeps it lively through the finish. Aged 11 months in French oak, 30% new. 14.5% alc. 90 points Jeb Dunnuck.
Silky, fruit-driven Californian Pinot for roast duck, mushroom risotto or grilled salmon.
