Clos du Chapître is a one-hectare monopole behind the family house in Rully, enclosed by a two-metre stone wall within the Premier Cru Chapître. The vines are farmed organically and kept to low yields with severe pruning, disbudding and green harvesting, and every bunch is sorted by hand.
The wine spends 12 months in barrel, only about 10% of them new, then settles in tank before bottling. It is a bright, succulent Côte Chalonnaise red with red cherry and raspberry, a nice amount of oak spice and gentle, fine tannins. 13.5% alc., sealed under Diam.
Premier Cru Burgundy at a weeknight-friendly price. Lovely with roast chicken, pork or charcuterie.
