Giuseppe Quintarelli is the benchmark estate of Valpolicella, run by the Quintarelli family from the hills above Negrar and known for its handwritten labels and patient, long-aged wines.
Primofiore, the "first flower", is the youngest red the estate releases each year: 50% Corvina and Corvinone with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The Cabernet is partly dried while the other grapes are freshly pressed, and the wine is then aged in Slavonian oak barrels.
