By Farr is the Farr family estate at Bannockburn in Geelong's Moorabool Valley, founded by Gary Farr and now led by his son Nick. The GC, for Gary Charles, is the family's tribute to Gary's four decades of work: a close-planted Chardonnay on the exposed north, north-east and east-facing slopes of the Côte Vineyard.

The fruit is hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed, then fermented naturally in barrel, 50 per cent new French oak, and bottled 11 months after picking. The Farrs describe a remarkable smoothness and calm that runs the length of the palate, with textured fruit and mineral detail. One of Australia's finest Chardonnay's.
