Sexton is Giant Steps' home vineyard at Gruyere in the Yarra Valley. Planted in 1997 on a steep, north-facing slope, it is home to GinGin and Mendoza clone Chardonnay and is one of the Yarra's most reliable single sites.
The 2025 was whole-bunch pressed and wild fermented in puncheons and a new 1200L foudre, then aged 9 months with 31% new oak and 15% malolactic. Expect white peach, stone fruit and grapefruit with candied ginger, roasted hazelnut and nougat. The finish is long and pithy. 13% alc., screwcap. 97 points Halliday, 95 points The Wine Front.
